Mid-Autumn festival at Chinatown 2012

Oh yes, we went to Chinatown again for Mid-Autumn festival! One of Lg's quirks that I just have to adapt! Reluctant, but still...

Strange me, the moment I saw blankets after blankets of lanterns hanging prettily along the street, I went all excited and camera ready!!! Lg said: "See, even it's the same thing every year, but I wish to see you like this again and again!" What a goldfish I am! Damn!

The moon was already so round yesterday and was so bright like a lantern itself! We stood on the bridge, didn't talk much but Lg was happy and he smiled whenever he looked at me! I get it now, it's not the event, not the place, it's the moment that counts, Lg just loves to relive these moments! I won't be grumpy anymore...

Pretty hair with coloured tresses

I bought 2 boxes of Liese Bubble Hair Color, even though I did not intend to dye my hair anytime soon, but because each box comes with a free coloured hair extension.

There were 3 colours that I saw today, I chose baby pink and fuschia pink, the other colour was very dark blue! Quite regretted that I didn't buy it, maybe tomorrow I'll go get it!!! By the way, the offer lasts till 3rd October only, at Watsons! Better be fast!

Now I can have pretty coloured hair!!! I hope they actually have more than 3 colours! Maybe purple, baby blue, pastel green?

The coloured hair tresses are clipped on and can be straightened. Super love!!!

Say Hello!

Mid-Autumn festival is here again! Last Saturday, we went to buy mooncakes! I chose the traditional mooncakes with lotus seed paste and double yolks! Actually, I chose the mooncakes because of their tea set!

After going to the annual library book sale, I stayed at home a lot!!! Seriously, I spent most of my time reading books, sounded like a bookworm, but I was trying to clear some space for my new books!

Been doing lots of DIY stuff lately, one of my favorite is this DIY scarf, cut out from a shirt and sewn together with a beaded chain necklace!

It's been a while since the last time Xiao Bai featured on my blog! So here he is! Happy and healthy!

Bought a cute piggy bank, or a bear bank. Anyway, using some markers, I dressed it up with a tiger hat and... lingerie, hahaha!

I love growing herbs in our kitchen now! My little garden keeps expanding!

Has anyone watched Fringe? It is an American science fiction television series. I love Fringe, the best television series ever!!!

Vietnamese rolls

This light dish is the easiest Vietnamese dish that I often make for Lg.

Ingredients:
Rice papers.
Prawns, boiled, shelled and deveined. Slice prawns in half lengthwise.
Beef, cut into thin strips, stir fry then set aside.
1 carrot and 1 cucumber, finely shredded.
Lettuce, basil and coriander.

Preparation: Slightly wet the rice paper, don't wait until it's soft, quickly place it on a board then place all the prepared ingredients on it. Roll rice paper firmly to envelop the filling.

Dipping sauce: Mix 1 tablespoon of fish sauce with vinegar and sugar, add 1 to 2 tablespoon of water to adjust to your taste, then add thinly sliced chillies and garlic.

Note: You can substitute vegetables and herbs of your choice, pea shoots, green mango, green papaya, instead of cucumbers and carrots, or mint leaves, chives instead of basil or corianders. Any type of cooked meat instead of beef or prawns, even soy sauce for the fish sauce. Be flexible and have fun.

Fried Corn

Lg loves to eat corn especially fried corn, which is very tasty with crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, plus a nice aroma!

I use this Deep Fried Flour, from Daiso as a batter for my corns! The ingredients inside the pack are wheat flour, starch, soy sauce powder, salt, sugar, ginger, glucose and garlic. You may use your own batter according to your preference.

Mix the flour with water then coat the corns evenly in the mixture. Heat oil and fry the coated corns. Done. It's that simple!

Note: Deep fried foods are never healthy, so I only cook this once in a while!

Menya Musashi ramen

I think of Menya Musashi ramen everyday. "Go Samurai!" became my favourite words! We dined at Menya Musashi often lately.

I enjoyed slurping Tsukemen dipped in the thick soup and the free noodle upsize up to 5 times!

Their soups, so rich Tonkotsu base that's hard to resist!!! I want white soup, so milky and creamy taste! Awww!!! Give me black soup, a healthy choice with garlic infusion! And red soup is my favourite, I love the mild spicy yet more concentrated taste.

I'm a glutton and I'm in heaven!
